Support
Lesson 9
So besides being on the same page with your wife and doing budget meetings weekly, what can help you feel supported?
Money isn't anything different than other habits that you need to develop.
Until I read 2 books I didn't know how to change a habit and have the courage to do it.
- Atomic Habits
- Extreme Ownership
Several of the tools you will likely need on your money journey are:
- Prioritize and execute 1 thing at a time
- Accountability partners
- Habit tracking
- Environmental design
- Schedule what is important
- Make it easy
- Join a community of support
- Education
I like how James Clear really made it seem to me that if you aren't winning essentially acerate up the tool list until you can change your identity and habits.
What are you you going to try to get more support so you can take ownership of your your money / finances and your life?
And if you haven't yet, time to pick a personal finance course to take with your wife and get on the same team and same page.
When You Need More Support
Ask yourself can't even be trusted to have cash, credit card or debit card in your pocket?
If the answer is no, then you likely have more than a bad habit, you likely have an medical condition that needs treatment. We just happen to call that addiction.
